East Meon Annual Show – Sunday 16th August
Preparations are already under way for this year’s Annual Show, a wonderful celebration of vegetable, fruit and flower growing, together with flower arranging, arts and crafts and much more.
Entry forms are available now from the Village Shop or by emailing eastmeongc@gmail.com. Completed forms should be placed in the Gold Box at the Village Shop by 5pm on Wednesday 12th August.
There are classes for everyone. Children’s competition classes include a homemade boat from the recycling bin, an animal made from fruits, vegetables or flowers, a seed tray garden, a homemade birthday card and three crispy cakes.
Produce and Preserve classes provide eleven opportunities to demonstrate your culinary talents, with this year’s Bake Off-inspired entries featuring a Swiss roll, European bread and flapjacks.
Photography enthusiasts can choose from six categories, including an East Meon sunrise or sunset, the fascinating world of moss and lichen, and the delightfully open-ended “Me and My Boots”.
Looking ahead, our next autumn event will be on Monday 5th October, with doors opening at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start, when we shall be exploring Container Planting with Bulbs for a Year of Colour.
